GOVERNING STYLE
Ask yourself: Do you want a leadership style that respects and values the voices of all elected leaders or just those of their political party members?
ISSUE: There is too much dysfunction in the boardroom.
WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE:
One of the most damning aspects of the current leadership’s approach to governing our union is that they callously disregard the expressed opinions of tens of thousands of voting members, as put forward by their chosen representatives.
The current administration runs the boardroom with a disregard for every dissenting policy proposal, insight and constructive suggestion. There are constants “leaks” to the press that there is “division in the boardroom” - that division is generated by systematic suppression of differing viewpoints.
This narrow-minded and self-interested mentality must be rejected.
WHAT IS OUR SOLUTION:
All of our members voices deserve to be valued. That begins with approaching our work in the board room with wisdom and inclusion.
The Board room in a Modine/Fisher administration would be characterized by a genuine concern and appreciation for the contributions of every board member.
