MATTHEW MODINE

FOR

SAG-AFTRA PRESIDENT

JODI LONG

FOR

SAG-AFTRA SECRETARY-TREASURER

MATTHEW MODINE – President

If you’re reading this statement, I want to remind you that you're much more than a member. You've paid an initiation fee, you pay dues, and contributions are made to your health and pension plans. This means you have ownership in this union. It’s your union and you have a say in how it functions. You are the union. Thank you for participating. I look forward to representing all 160,000 members.

JODI LONG – Secretary-Treasurer

Working vested actor for 40 years. Every aspect of how we are hired and compensated is changing. Residuals, P&H, set safety are being whittled down. If we are to thrive as a Union we must ensure our long fought protections continue for the current and next generation while maintaining fiscal responsibility. As LA EEOC Chair, produced Unconscious Bias Workshop sponsored by SAG-AFTRA at Sony Studios, then brought this to our members. SAG Legacy Women’s Committee, spearheaded efforts for IMDB to take down our DOB. NATIONAL BOARD, EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE. The Academy, Actors’ Executive Committee.

RETURNING ELECTED

SAG-AFTRA NATIONAL BOARD MEMBERS

SAG-AFTRA L.A. LOCAL PRESIDENT

PATRICIA RICHARDSON – LA Local President

PATRICIA RICHARDSON – LA Local President

PATRICIA RICHARDSON – LA Local President

Honored to be your current LA Local First VP. We have the largest local, half the Union’s members. Our building, doubling as National Headquarters and our home, now a construction site RENTED at $6,000,000 a year, is inadequate for our needs. We still have to rent other spaces for any large meetings. Thanks to MF, LA holds the ONLY Board meetings open to members. WE FIGHT for transparency in all matters. Come to meetings! We need your energy, involvement, knowledge, experience and support. Keep your Union HONEST! Make your representatives ACCOUNTABLE! Apathy is breaking us. VOTE MODINE/LONG/MembershipFirst.com

As LA President I hope to restore lost trust, and eradicate the Union busting apathy that is resulting from members giving up because of unlivable wages, disappearing residuals, sinking or unattainable pensions, incorrect paychecks, and too many contracts. There’s been been inexcusable misinformation and outright dishonesty around what is being done vs. what needs to be done for our sexual harassment and abuse survivors. This was evident at the Membership First initiated Sexual Harassment Caucus recently, which heartbreakingly revealed how little in fact the Union was actually doing these last few years. While bragging about having the only hotline and counseling services available SAG-AFTRA was in fact only training people to direct callers to the Actor’s Fund which then referred them to social workers who are ”options counselors”, not trauma specialists. The Sexual Harassment Caucus that Membership First brought about positively resulted in recommendations from our survivors and existing intimacy coordinators for the next contracts and are now folded into the new Netflix agreement.

I serve at SAG-AFTRA to enable the next generation to have the same safety and financial security that I enjoyed as a performer in this Union for the last 44 years. Please Vote for me and the WHOLE Membership First slate! Together we have a chance to change the culture in our board rooms, build member trust in this Union by being transparent in all that we do, while making your livelihood and safety our priorities.

SAG-AFTRA L.A. LOCAL VICE PRESIDENTS

DAVID JOLLIFFE – LA Vice-President

It's been my honor to serve you as your Los Angeles 2nd Vice-President. But, also, it's been extremely frustrating! We are a minority in the boardroom -- so it's almost impossible to make the changes you need. Our residuals are plummeting. We’re paying $6 million a year to rent our LA headquarters. The SAG-AFTRA staff -- paid with your dues -- has a pension plan far superior to ours. Once more, I'm asking for your vote to fight the good fight. Matthew Modine for National President. Jodi Long for Secretary/Treasurer. Please vote. MembershipFirst.com

FRANCES FISHER – LA Vice-President

Vote Matthew Modine for National President; Jodi Long for National Secretary/Treasurer; Patricia Richardson for L A Local President; David Jolliffe & Moi for LA Local Vice-Presidents. I agree with Jolliffe’s statements. He possesses institutional memory that surpasses staff and elected. I’m 20 years on the National Board. We need a majority led by President Modine to stave off giveaways like reducing Portal-to-Portal down to Set-to-Set for all series performers worldwide. We have ways to make our union strong; we just need a majority of support. Vote all MembershipFirst.com candidates.
