TALENT SHOWCASES FOR AGENTS, MANAGERS, AND CASTING

Ask yourself: Can’t my union help me land representation and get me in front of casting and production companies?

ISSUE: Many of our members are seeking representation and opportunities to perform in front of industry professionals like writers, directors, producers, and casting directors.

WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE:
Without representation or industry relationships in production, it can be very difficult for aspiring members to gain access to the best job opportunities.

WHAT IS OUR SOLUTION:
SAG-AFTRA should absolutely have the best in-person, virtual, and digital showcases in the business. MembershipFirst intends to develop and offer them as a regular part of all Locals’ programming.

  • We already have a workgroup developing casting and representation showcases to help our members connect with casting and get repped.

  • In 2019 we developed and launched a three-week monologue class where 10 LA Conservatory members auditioned for and were selected for the class. They got advice choosing a monologue, rehearsed it for feedback, and then performed it for a panel of CSA casting directors, WGA writers, and DGA directors.

  • It was a successful, wonderful experience. We can’t wait for more of our members to participate in future Showcases.
